“The Principle of Holiness and Separation”
Wednesday, May 2, 2012
Pastor Dave Clear
Genesis 1:2-5

First mention of separation in the Bible was in separating light from darkness.

Ten things that are deemed by God to be holy or separate:

1st – the Sabbath day

2nd – the tithe

3rd – the firstborn

4th – one tribe in Israel

5th – six cities in all of Israel

6th – one book – the Bible

7th – one city – Jerusalem

8th – the blood

9th – the bride of Christ – a man’s bride

10th – the temple/ the body of the believer

Holiness or separation always has a purpose. Ez. 22:23-31

The Gospel and presenting of the Gospel depends upon our upholding personal and corporate sanctification and holiness in our lives!

Tomorrow, March 7 a funeral will be held in our facility for the home going of Mrs. Dolores Pederson who passed away last week at the age of 88. We praise the Lord that she knew Christ, but we will miss her much. The viewing is at 10 a.m. and the funeral is at 11 a.m. Logistically, we will have the secondary students out of the building during this time. Under supervision, we will bus the junior high to the Rosemount Library from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and we will bus the high school to the Apple Valley Library at the same time. We will have two class periods in the morning, then load the bus at 9:45 a.m. After being at the library, students will be bused and supervised to an area fast food restaurant. Money for lunch is needed OR a sack lunch brought. After getting back at 12:30 p.m., we will conduct three afternoon classes. The core classes will meet tomorrow (Bible, Math, English, History, and Science). We are encouraging the young people to make their time productive in the quiet atmosphere of the library; we also have warned them to behave appropriately and remain quiet while in the library. There is science fair to work on, and we have students who have homework or need to get caught up. I am not completely sure about the need for a library card to use the computers, but if you do NOT want your child using a library computer, just let me know. I respect the fact that some parents may not want their young people on a computer. If that is the case, then just email me. Thank you.

Happy Birthday to Pastor Clear, our superintendent of First Baptist School and senior pastor of First Baptist Church. His birthday is tomorrow!

Clinics for the elementary in boys’ basketball and girls’ cheerleading will be held after school this Thursday. Many of our secondary students will be involved in mentoring and coaching these elementary-age children.

Busing There will be no busing this Friday, March 9.

MACS Jr. High Fine Arts Festival. JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS MUST BE AT SCHOOL BY 7:45 A.M. THIS COMING FRIDAY! We are busing the entire junior high to Woodcrest for this festival. We have all the students competing in this, and we appreciate your prayers for them. We plan to be back at 5 p.m. Students are asked to bring a sack lunch or $4.00 for the package-type meal they are offering. The high school will still be meeting on Friday. We also look to have some practice time for the high school for MACS on this day, also.

Time Change Sunday is coming up this weekend. Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before heading to bed on Saturday night.

Research Papers are being done by many of the students at this time.

Recent Pictures for the Future/Faculty Games and Spirit Week are available on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/firstbaptistschoolofrosemount. You do not need a Facebook account to view these.

First Baptist Church Youth

Soul Winning & Bus Visitation will take place Wednesday, March 7 at 3 p.m. in the Johnson Chapel.

High School Game Night is scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at 4 p.m. in the Johnson Chapel. Bring your favorite board game. The cost is free and this activity will be over at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided!

Youth Chapel is Sunday. We will work on our song for Youth Service Night which takes place at the end of the month, and we will have a video presentation of Spirit Week. Mr. Graves will be preaching. We will have treats.

Conquerors’ Dinner & Youth Luncheon will be held in the gymnasium on Sunday, March 18 (one week from this Sunday). This is a time where our teenagers get to have lunch with some of the older folks in our church. This is a wonderful time, and we will have a sign-up sheet soon.

Recapping Sunday School We had a great time in the gymnasium this past Sunday for a combined Sunday School class with approximately 50 teenagers. We hope to see you in your place each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Our next combined Sunday School for the youth is May 6, 2012 at 10 a.m.

Revelation 18:2

Prophecy #3 – the little horn (Daniel

Prophecy #4 – part of the sealed up prophecy (Daniel 12)

Iraq:

1. Iraq is first mentioned at the beginning of history after the flood.

2. The most notable son of Cush was Nimrod.

3. Nimrod was a mighty hunter - a conqueror.

4. Nimrod was very proud and put himself before the Lord.

5. Nimrod’s first city was Babel.

6. His second city is where we get the name Iraq from.

7. Nimrod is associated with the constellation called “Orion.”

8. Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon was the great example of pride.

9. Notice a key prophecy about Iraq that is yet to be fulfilled – Jeremiah 25.

Pastor Dave Clear
Galatians 6:1, 5:19-24

Words to notice: (instructions on how to treat the fallen)

1. Overtaken – the phrasing here implies something that has been witnessed, not gossipped!

2. Fault – God wants to win back ground given up to Satan!

3. Spiritual – this is one who embraces. (Gal 5:22-23)

4. Restore – to bring back to (as much as possible) a former condition.

5. Meekness – it implies evenness.

6. Considering – the word means “watching.” Who? Ourselves!

7. Also tempted – careful we don’t open a door too!

8. Bear – this implies that we are to bear the guilt of the fallen and restored one.

9. Fulfill the law of Christ – I John 2:1 “Advocate” (“Paraclete”) is a legal term as well, describing a defense lawyer.
