Southeast College Tour Trip 2014

All six of our seniors and three of our juniors attended a college trip to Pensacola Christian College from Wednesday, November 12 through Saturday, November 15, 2014. Pastor Anaya graciously took us to the airport on Wednesday with everyone needing to be at the school by about 4 a.m. (that’s early for sure). Our group flew out of the Humphrey Terminal 2 at 6:20 a.m. to Atlanta, Georgia. Meeting up with Pastor Clear in Atlanta, we rented an SUV (Grand Cherokee Sport) and a mini-van (Town & Country).

We made the drive from Atlanta, Georgia to Pensacola, Florida in about five hours. We did stop for a Cracker Barrel dinner. Our group arrived at Pensacola Christian College around 5 p.m. checking in at the information desk of the administration building. After receiving our information, packets, and ID cards, the students settled into their dormitories. Pastor Clear and Mr. Graves were able to stay at the Campus House near the college. We all met for supper at the Four Winds Dining Commons and then went back to the dorms to get ready for the 7 p.m. service at the Crowne Center to hear Campus Pastor, Denis McBride. He spoke on the relationship of fathers and their daughters.

On Thursday, we met for a college tour at 8:15 a.m. at the information desk. The tour was led by Marissa who is a junior at Pensacola. After our tour we attended college chapel. The students then visited classes for the 11, 12, and 1 p.m. time slots fitting lunch into the schedule as well. The students were able to see “The Heavens Declare” planetarium show at 2 p.m. in the MacKenzie building, and then enjoy some free time on the campus in the afternoon.

Our young people met up with many of our college students from Rosemount at 5:15 p.m. for supper. They went to Cheddars Restaurant and enjoyed the time of fellowship. This included Jeff, Scott, Leah, Casey, Treston, Mitchell, Kevin, Michael, and Aaron. After supper, our students went back and enjoyed several activities at the Sportscenter.

On Friday, the students visited some more classes and chapel. We ate lunch, and then met  mid-afternoon to visit Pensacola Beach even though it was a cool afternoon. On Friday evening the group enjoyed the Sportscenter once again.

We left early on Saturday morning and drove back to Atlanta. The group arrived at the Atlanta airport and checked in for our flight. We arrived back in Rosemount to a snowy, cold day. Pastor Anaya picked us up from the airport.
