We loaded the bus on Thursday morning, April 18 at around 9:30 a.m. We pulled out of the parking lot at 9:59 a.m. and headed for the Hampton Inn in Iowa City where we would check in, get our room assignments, freshen up (quickly), get back on the bus and head for the church (about 35 minutes away).

Washington, Iowa is not a large town. When we arrived at the church, we witnessed a packed auditorium of hundreds of young people from all over Iowa and beyond. There were even delegates we found out later that came the farthest – from California. We had a great first day on Thursday hearing from some great preachers. Miss Cyndi Clear won a Wii game system during the session. The games, singing, and fellowship were great. On Thursday evening after the first day of the conference, we went to the McDonald’s by the hotel.

On Friday morning we had breakfast at the hotel and left around 8 a.m. The conference started at 9:30 a.m. We had a great time in the morning session which ended approximately 12:30 p.m. In the afternoon we visited the Coralville Mall and had lunch and ice skating.  The young people enjoyed a break and some fellowship with each other for a few hours before the last session at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Graves won an iPad Mini in the last session.

The last session was a blessing and once again included some great preaching. The theme for the conference was, “Stand.” We had many young people make decisions for Christ. Praise the Lord for that. We went to McDonald’s after the last session which was located just across the street from the church. We left just after 11 p.m. and arrived back in Rosemount around 5 a.m. During the trip in Iowa we saw a lot of green grass and even some flowers blooming. We found out during the trip that Rosemount was receiving quite a bit of snow in mid-April. We trust the snow will be gone quickly, but we are not so sure of that.

A big thank you goes to Mr. and Mrs. Von Wald for chaperoning and helping on this trip as well as Mrs. Graves and Brother Nate Otterdahl who drove for us. Praise the Lord for a great time and for decisions made for Christ.

It was a blessing to pray over our young people – Andrew, Michael, Sammy, Mikayla, Laurie, Christy, Emily, Ashley, Daniel, Viktor, and Scott – on Sunday night. These young people made their decisions public on Sunday, April 21 during the invitation. These young people made decisions to stand for Christ and surrender to Him. Praise the Lord!
