  • No School on Wednesday through Friday, November 21-23 due to Thanksgiving Vacation. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving! School will resume on Monday, November 26.
  • 2nd Semester International Student Opportunity We are looking to place a 4th grade boy and a 7th grade boy, both from Korea. These are two boys who would very much like to become a part of your family and are waiting to find a host family for January. Please contact Leah Kuykendall if you have any questions or are interested in hosting a student. Her cell is 612.310.3459 and her email is leah.kuykendall@gmail.com. If you are interested but are not able to commit for January we are looking for host families for the 2013-2014 school year. An attached flyer is enclosed about the KoAm Education Alliance.
  • Boys’ Basketball Tournament in Indiana is next Wednesday through Friday, November 28-30. Please encourage your son to get his work completed before the trip.
  • An Early Reminder that there is no District 196 busing on Friday, November 30.

First Baptist Church Youth

  • Soul Winning for tomorrow is canceled because we do not have school. This coming Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Johnson Chapel is an opportunity for our young people to go bus calling or work on a map for soul winning.
  • Youth Chapel this coming Sunday will be split chapel with Mr. Von Wald speaking to the guys, and Mrs. Von Wald speaking to the ladies.
  • Youth Service Night will be held on Sunday, December 2.
  • Breakfast at Denny’s for juniors and seniors who will be taking the ACT test on Saturday, December 8 will be provided for free. We will meet at 6:30 a.m. at the Apple Valley Denny’s. While the time to meet is early, the goal is to provide a good meal for the young people before embarking on a four-hour test.
  • The Youth Christmas Banquet will be held on Saturday, December 8 in the Johnson Chapel. Tickets will go on sale shortly and more information will be forthcoming. This is a senior high activity only.
