Dear Parent or Guardian,

  • How exciting the last few weeks have been. Incredibly busy, but exciting! Thank you once again for the decision you have made to place your child(ren) in our school. I do not take that for granted!
  • This coming Monday, September 20 is Josten’s Picture Day. Students come to school as normal in their uniforms. These pictures will be those that appear in our yearbook.
  • Today is the end of the first three-week period. Because grades are online, the official three-week grade that we will base sports eligibility on will be the grades that show ON NEXT WEDNESDAY MORNING when you check Headmaster. Students who have a D, F, or incomplete will be ineligible for athletics. The guidelines are listed in the handbook. Students with a D can still practice but will have one week to bring their grade up.
  • A Pep Rally is scheduled for next Friday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.
  • Homecoming is on Friday, September 24. If you are new to this, the schedule is as follows: We will have all volleyball and soccer games played here. Once all games are complete, the high school students only will be bussed to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Mellett (Mr. Brandon Mellett’s parents) in Farmington. We will have a bonfire, testimonies, and food. This is for First Baptist School homeschool and full time students only. This will be staffed and supervised the entire time. After we are done, we will come back to the school, and divide up into teams and play some volleyball. We anticipate being done after 11 p.m. We will work at giving you a more accurate time soon. The cost is $5 per student. Last year, I believe just about every single high school student went. It is a most wonderful time of sharing, food, fellowship, testimonies, and games. It is a sweet time around the bonfire as the young people give testimonies. Please encourage your high school student to attend. Parents of freshman, this is an event you will not want them to miss.
  • There is a First Baptist Church horseback riding activity on Saturday, September 25 at 3 p.m. Junior and senior high teenagers are invited to attend. The cost is $5/person. If you have any questions, please email me.
  • This is an early reminder that there is no school on Wednesday, September 29 through Friday, October 1, 2010, due to teacher in-service times and a teachers’ convention.
  • Our verse for next week in school is Deuteronomy 32:7 which states, “Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
