47 Teenagers Enjoy “My Gift For My Savior” Youth Banquet

On Saturday, December 12, 2009, forty-seven teenagers attended our Youth Christmas Banquet entitled, “My Gift For My Saviour.” Also present were Pastor and Mrs. Clear, Mr. and Mrs. Graves, Mr. Jeff Ronne, Mr. Erik McKay, Mrs. Von Wald, and Mrs. and Mrs. Walls. Mr. Von Wald was called into work at the last minute and was not able to make it.

The evening started at 6:15 p.m. with appetizers. Mr. Graves prayed for the main meal which included Chicken Cordon Bleu, baked potato, green beans, and brownies and ice cream for dessert. Mr. and Mrs. Butch and Diane Riddle did a spectacular job of heading up the meal. Mrs. Williams made the dessert which included a fudge brownie delight with ice cream.

Several of our staff members such as Miss Palpant, Mrs. Pierson, Mr. Helder, Mr. Miranda, Mr. Cain, Mr. McKinney, and Mr. Ohlemacher all helped to serve the meal to our teenagers. Mrs. Welch helped in the kitchen the entire time along with Mrs. Cain. Mrs. Welch and her daughter, Allyson, helped to decorate as well as Mrs. Vikki Pierson. Mr. Jeff Ronne, Jr. sang three songs for us. They included, “O Holy Night,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” and “Mary, Did You Know.”

The young people had a great time. We sang, Mr. Dave prayed, we played a game, and Pastor Clear challenged our young people to give a gift to their Saviour during this time of Christmas and into the new year.

We had seven tables set up for our teenagers. After the banquet, the teenagers went to Apple Valley to bowl two games. We had a great time bowling, and the young people took many photographs.
