November Youth Service Night Features 2 Family Singing Groups

On Sunday evening, November 22, 2009, nearly fifty young people were involved in our Youth Service Night. A full line-up of young people helped to serve in various capacities from the greeting to orchestra to singing.

Two of the main specials in the service were family groups. Kendra and Casey (cousins) sang a duet together for the first special. Nick, Meg, Laurie (brother and sisters) sang alongside Jeff and Scott (brothers) for our second special. Ethan and Randal did a great job on their offertory duet. Daniel opened up our service in prayer, and Brent, a senior, prayed for the offering.

The youth choir sang three verses of “There is Power in the Blood.” Mr. Graves recapped the junior high Game Night Activity held the day before and encouraged the young people to attend Youth Chapel where a series on “Signs of Immaturity in Teenagers” is being taught. He also introduced the Youth Christmas Banquet for Saturday, December 12, 2009.

The next Youth Service Night is scheduled for Sunday, January 31, 2010. We are already looking forward to this date and what is in store for our young people.

Young people, you are a blessing to this youth director. I know you’re a blessing to Pastor Clear and the people of First Baptist Church. But most of all, and what is most important, was an evening where I believe you glorified your Savior. Thanks for serving Him. Keep up the great work, teenagers! We are proud of you!
