48 Attend Paintball Youth Activity

On Saturday, September 12, 2009, forty eight attended our paintball youth activity. Leaving at approximately 3:15 p.m. from the church, Mr. Graves drove the bus to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Von Wald. They opened up not only their home but their entire property in Hastings and turned it into a battlefield complete with old cars, two story buildings, woods, old buildings, and a ton of other obstacles.

Four complete games were played including a game designated for just the ladies as well as one for the guys. Mr. Von Wald pulled out all the stops by securing all of our ammunition (as we shot thousands of rounds), guns, and face masks. He also boarded up some windows on his own home and spent hours preparing his property for the activity. The attendance for the evening resulted in a pretty even number of both ladies and guys.
Following our games, Mrs. Von Wald prepared a delicious meal of sloppy joes, chips, pop, and cookies. The teenagers worked up an appetite after having fun with paintball.

Mr. Graves would like to thank all who attended the activity. “It was a blessing to see such a good spirit on the part of the kids,” said Mr. Graves. Lord-willing, paintball will be planned for September of 2010. We had many first timers this year. The Lord gave us great weather as well. This was the first youth activity of the calendar year.
